Role Overview

Immerse yourself in real-world computer vision and industrial AI engineering. As a vision systems intern, you will develop, train, and deploy real-time vision pipelines that solve mission-critical manufacturing and surveillance challenges. You will train custom YOLOv10/YOLO11 models for microscopic surface defect detection, implement multi-camera object tracking using ByteTrack, accelerate deep learning models with NVIDIA TensorRT FP16/INT8 quantization, and deploy edge vision inference engines directly onto NVIDIA Jetson hardware.

  • Curating and augmenting industrial PCB / mechanical defect datasets using Albumentations and Roboflow
  • Training custom lightweight YOLOv10/YOLO11 models for microscopic crack and solder void detection
  • Designing OpenCV preprocessing pipelines: Histogram equalization, morphological cleaning, and perspective rectification
  • Evaluating model metrics: mAP@0.5, Precision-Recall curves, and false-positive suppression

2 Multi-Camera Video Streaming & Real-Time Tracking Engine

Live Milestone
  • Building multi-threaded RTSP video capture pipelines using OpenCV, FFmpeg, and GStreamer
  • Implementing high-speed multi-object tracking using ByteTrack to track vehicles and personnel across frames
  • Line-crossing counting algorithms, speed estimation, and automated spatial dwell-time monitoring
  • Generating real-time visual alerts and webhook notifications on security breaches or equipment anomalies

3 NVIDIA TensorRT GPU Acceleration & Edge Optimization

Live Milestone
  • Exporting trained PyTorch vision models to ONNX and compiling optimized NVIDIA TensorRT engines
  • Implementing FP16 half-precision and INT8 quantization with calibration datasets for 4x throughput boost
  • Benchmarking inference latency (measuring FPS, GPU memory footprint, and CUDA core utilization)
  • Deploying containerized inference services on NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano hardware

4 Worker Safety PPE Compliance & Production Staging Review

Live Milestone
  • Engineering an end-to-end industrial health and safety monitoring system (Hardhat, Safety Vest, and Zone intrusion)
  • Integrating human pose estimation (YOLO-pose) for ergonomic fatigue and slip-and-fall detection
  • Packaging the complete vision microservice with Docker and FastAPI for dashboard telemetry
  • Defending the architecture in a live technical walkthrough and verifying final GitHub repository sign-off
